Car crashes near Lake Elmo shoreline, killing its driver

A car crashed early Wednesday on a road near the northeast shoreline of Lake Elmo, killing the driver, authorities said.

The driver, a 22-year-old man from Oak Park Heights, was thrown from the car, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The crash occurred about 3:10 a.m. on Lake Elmo Avenue N. near 30th Street, the Sheriff's Office said.

The man's identity was being withheld pending notification of family.
