Capitol rallies taking shape for eve of shutdown

Union leaders and low-income advocates are planning a day of Capitol rallies to mark the last day the government is fully operational.

As the state edges closer to government shutdown, union leaders and low-income advocates are planning a day of Capitol rallies to mark the last day the government is fully operational.

Five groups have rallies planned Thursday, starting at 10 a.m. and running through 7 p.m.

Here's a breakdown of the events:

10:00 am - 11:00 am -- State Capitol, south steps, Minnesota Council of Nonprofits
10:30 am - 1:30 pm -- Andersen Building, lobby, MAPE Union
12:00 pm - 2:00 pm -- State Capitol, (Mall & Lower Lawn), Council on Asian Pacific MN
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm -- State Capitol, south steps, Welfare Rights Committee
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm -- State Capitol, rotunda, Fighting Back Shutdown Rally
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm -- State Capitol, south Steps, Fighting Back Shutdown Rally
