A missing canoeist's body was found and identified Tuesday after capsizing last week on Leech Lake.
Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch said the body of Kenneth Gale, 66, of Federal Dam, Minn., was found Tuesday morning.
The sheriff received reports last Tuesday evening of an overturned canoe on the east side of Leech Lake near Sugar Point.
A search began immediately and continued the next day with several state and tribal agencies and dive teams involved.
Leech Lake is in north central Minnesota near Walker, south of Bemidji.
