Three candidates vying for the seat vacated by DFL Senate veteran Linda Berglin will go head-to-head at a forum near Whittier Park Tuesday evening.

The forum runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Whittier Park Recreation Center. Participants include DFL candidate Rep. Jeff Hayden, GOP candidate Bruce Lundeen and Green Party candidate Farheen Hakim.

Organizer Jen Wendland says she has not heard back from Independence Party candidate Matt Brillhart.

The general election in the Senate District 61 race is slated for Oct. 18.

Several people are so confident Hayden will win that they have already established fundraising accounts to vie for his House seat (61B).

The event is sponsored by the Whittier Alliance Neighborhood Association, the Stevens Square Community Organization and the League of Women Voters of Minneapolis.

The address:

Whittier Park Recreation Center
26th St. W & Grand Ave S
