Calipari confident Towns will be No. 1 pick

Popular sentiment these days is that the Timberwolves will take Kentucky big man Karl-Anthony Towns with the No. 1 overall pick in next week's NBA draft.

The thing is, most of the people saying it likely are either taking educated guesses or repeating what they've heard elsewhere.

So when someone like John Calipari — Towns' college coach at Kentucky — starts talking about draft projections, it is worthwhile to pay attention. And in a Kentucky Sports Radio interview on Wednesday, Calipari said of Towns, flat-out: "He will be the number one pick, unless something crazy happens."
