California is still in the midst of an extended dry period that began duringthe later days of October. In November, there was a little rain (and snow inthe mountains), but what fell was hardly a drop in the bucket compared to whatnormally comes down.As of the current time, the dry pattern will continue, but there are definitesigns it will break next week. Beginning Monday, the Pacific storm conveyorwill start hurtling storms into California and the rest of the Southwest. Thatmeans significant rain will finally get into central and Southern California, with more snow for the intermountain region.
