A storm rolling in from the Pacific will bring rain to California andsouthwestern Oregon beginning on Friday. The storm will then spread rainfallfrom California into the southern Rockies over the weekend, with the heaviestrain expected across northern and central California on Friday. As usual, theheavier rain bands will break up once east of these high mountains.The storm will dump most of its water across central and northern parts ofCalifornia, although some rain could be seen as far south as Los Angeles. Rainin Southern California becomes rare in May as you can tell from the averages.

The normal rainfall for the month in Los Angeles is a mere quarter of an inch.
