We bought a second home in northern Minnesota near Aitkin with a plan to retire someday, downsizing to two bedrooms. However, the location and atmosphere are so popular with our family and friends that more sleeping space was needed for the long holiday weekends. We converted a 12 x 8 garden shed to sleeping quarters complete with heat and electricity. Many names were suggested while doing the makeover, such as the Doghouse, the Outhouse and Cabin #8. However, the one that stuck was the "Love Shack." It is now a popular place to sleep with those that are not early-risers, especially those second- and third-generation guests.
