The 5-foot-11 big sister of NBA player Kris Humphries, whose divorce settlement with Kim Kardashian is quietly being negotiated, signed with Ford Models in March, according to Fashionista.com.

Kaela Humphries "ditched her career as a medical sales rep in Minnesota in March and moved to Manhattan to pursue a career as a plus-size model," People magazine reports.

People called her "the new poster girl for the Limited's eloquii line." After booking gigs for Nordstrom and Kohl's, she had the confidence she needed to focus on modeling full-time. She said she didn't know plus-size models existed when she was a kid "or that you could make a career out of it."

Like her brother, Humphries grew up swimming. She attended college on a full scholarship. But when she retired from the sport her weight ballooned and she "went up three sizes," she told People. However, she recently dropped 40 pounds to become a size 16, which the magazine says is the preferred plus-size world measurement.

Humphries' current diet and exercise regimen includes avoiding carbs after 8 p.m. and working out twice a day for up to two hours.

She's not exactly living on lettuce.

"I should probably say I'm getting a salad," Humphries is quoted as saying in People during a lunch where she actually ordered "the hamburger."

Ali Holman of coreconditioningtraining.com says the bun can be the big problem on hot dogs and hamburgers. Livestrong.com says a hamburger bun with white flour has 120 calories.

I don't believe employees of Five Guys Burgers and Fries owned by her dad, William Humphries, would begrudge Kaela's request for a bunless burger with extra lettuce and tomatoes.

The man is a FAN!"Live at the Improv" met "Dallas" on the set of the "FOX 9 Buzz."

While at the station preparing to shoot my weekly appearance, I was overcome with the need to sing a not-very-good version of the "Dallas" theme to Jason Matheson. Thought I'd get a rise out of Matheson like the ones we share on Twitter.com, where we snipe at each other like siblings. But there was a much better video surprise when Matheson brought his anchor colleagues Tom Butler and Alix Kendall in on the act.

After just standing there and shaking his head disapprovingly, Matheson called over Butler, who was walking out of the studio.

"Tom, do your Jock imitation," said Matheson. Butler indeed came back and made like the patriarch of the Ewing clan. "Dammit, Bobby!"

"Ladies and gentleman, the late Jim Davis," Matheson said in praise.

Kendall was supposed to be getting ready to shoot her promos for the next day's show, when distracted by our antics, she walked over to ask, "What's going on over here?"

Matheson told Kendall to "Do an imitation of Sue Ellen drunk at the barbecue."

Kendall obliged and Butler joked ... Oh, I think it's best to let my startribune.com/video reveal this beauty.

Matheson, the biggest "Dallas"-o-phile I've ever known, is on a high about this week's trip to South Fork for the media dog-and-pony show surrounding the return of the soap opera to TNT.

It originally aired for "13 seasons, from April 2, 1978, until May 3, 1991," as Matheson has been known to enunciate like "Rain Man." It was standard Friday night viewing for Matheson and his now late grandmother, Evelyn.

In 2003, when "Dallas" star Linda Gray was in Minneapolis performing "The Graduate," my interview with her bumped up against Matheson's. Even without video camera, the memory is indelible. Matheson fawned, blubbered and hyperventilated to the verge of passing out. It was no act. Gray was so moved that she invited him to see "The Graduate" a second time as her guest and then let him take her to grab a bite to eat.

Matheson invited me to join him in Texas but I have other commitments. He and his MyTalk 107.1 FM co-host Alexis Thompson are doing their radio show "Live From South Fork" -- he's going to love saying that repeatedly -- Thursday and Friday.

Upon seeing Linda Gray, Matheson is sure to cry enough tears to fill a Stetson.
