MC Hammer can Command a crowd again, I guess, thanks to his funny 3M commercials.

Market BBQ owner Anthony Polski swears that at least 700 people lined up Friday to have a photo taken with Hammer at a private 3M event.

Polski wanted to cut the line and get back to his food truck, which was providing some of the grub for the event. "There was a big line. I went to the people at 3M and asked if we could meet him so we could get back and cook the food. They were cool with that," said Polski.

Meeting Hammer was a top priority for Glenn Johnson, Market BBQ's director of food truck operations. Glenn is working out so well Anthony has nicknamed him "Glenn Polski," complete with name tag.

"He's a black dude," said Polski, who isn't. "When he found out about this Hammer thing, Glenn got extremely excited and wanted a haircut, new T-shirts — wanted to look right. I was concerned we wouldn't meet him and I did not want Glenn let down."

With their line-cutting approved, Anthony tried to get a photo holding the pink toy Market BBQ truck. Hammer wasn't having it.

"I have this pink mini truck and that did not make MC Hammer happy. He did not want me taking a picture with an advertisement for my restaurant. He was like, What is that? No, you can't take a picture with that. Get outta here. So I put that little truck down and he took a picture with us. Then Glenn said something to him. And Hammer was like, Wait, wait. Let's get that truck in the picture now!"

Glenn said, "I told him, 'What? We can't have this truck in the picture?' " and suddenly Hammer was OK with it. "I don't know if it was a black thing or what."

I thought Glenn might've charmed Hammer by talking up those 3M Command strips for which Hammer is "the perfect spokesman," according to Adweek.

T-shirts suit prosecutor

The special prosecutor wasn't browsing near the stuffy lawyer-like suits Friday after the big announcement.

Don Lewis was in that section of Macy's second floor on Nicollet Mall where the edgy T-shirts and other hipsters gear is on display. I probably should've hung back and watched to see what he was shopping for, but I was surprised to see him.

Lewis was in the news after being appointed by Ramsey County Attorney John Choi to examine the possibility of bringing charges in the fatal shooting of Philando Castile by St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez.

He never tells me anything, so I didn't ask any of my burning questions. He was cordial. When I joked about his mug being on the TV screen, he made a remark about how the newspaper business has changed. I told him that's why I shoot videos.

Although he was a hot news item, Lewis was not stopping the foot traffic at Macy's.

I chatted with three other lawyers over the weekend about what Lewis' final decision in the Castile case might be and only one agreed with my prediction.

The Bachelorette goes to …

KARE 11's "Sunrise" anchor Cory Hepola was positive almost two months ago which guy "Bachelorette" JoJo Fletcher would choose for her journey to Happily Ever Afterville. Monday after my deadline, we'll know if he was right.

In June, I interviewed Hepola and his weekend anchor wife, Camille Williams, who has been on maternity leave since the birth of twins Senia and Sevi to join their toddler, Cormac.

There were still a lot of "Bachelorette" contenders for JoJo's heart when Cory made this prediction, so I'm impressed.

Fletcher is choosing between Jordan Rodgers or Robby Hayes. Will JoJo pick the man with the adult name and messy family that includes the famed estranged Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, or the man who should have outgrown being called Robby about 10 years ago? Robby's also got tall hair and an immediate past girlfriend.

The Packers QB has declined to discuss his little brother's spilling the beans that he has little or no relationship with his siblings or PARENTS. From what Jordan implied on national TV, the pressures of being one of the NFL's elite players may keep him away from his nuclear family.

What baloney. There are certainly reasons not to have a relationship with a parent. But the man who has rejected his mom bears watching, Olivia Munn (girlfriend of the Packers QB).

I seriously doubt any of these potential unions will be as stable as the one between Williams and Hepola.
