C.J.: Anchor Kelcey Carlson doesn't get all wrapped up about how she dresses

I've been expecting another e-mail from reader Candace, a Fox 9 News viewer.

"Can you find out why Kelcey Carlson on FOX9 News with Jeff Passolt wears wraparound knit dresses all the time? They are so dated. Thanks," Candace wrote me.

There was an excellent reason: She's expecting a May sweeps baby.

While Candace may not like knit wrap dresses, they are very much in style. Iconic fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg devotes a section of DVF.com to them in "The Wrap Shop."

Candace's cruel fashion critique rolled off Carlson's back; she seldom takes umbrage.

"A lot of maternity dresses are wrap, and I find they are the most flattering," said Carlson. "If you've got a belly button sticking out and you can't hide it with a Band-Aid, at least you can scrunch up the middle section of the dress. In maternity clothes it's hard to find stuff that's professional."

This will be Carlson's third child with her husband of 13 years.

Now a honcho with the NFL, Birk wrote this series of tweets: "In the airport traveling with my family, a stranger came up to me and said I need a lesson in family planning. My response … some stallions weren't meant to be tamed. 6 kids. Where I'm from, we call that a good start."

Interviewed Tuesday on Sports Radio 105 The Ticket's Bob Sansevere show, Birk talked about the reactions to his tweets and his family plan.

"You basically go every other year with a kid," Sansevere said when Birk shared the ages of his kids. "No," said Birk, "it's every year and a half [with] a … three-year gap between one and two."

Asked about plans for Baby No. 7, Birk said, "I have plans for number 7. She does not, so I'm actually taking applications."

Sansevere said obviously Adrianna Birk was not within earshot. Birk indicated that his wife doesn't laugh at him much anymore. "Just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary," he said.

Didn't a man have a baby, I seem to recall an Oprah interview? Maybe Mr. Birk should look into that as a future anniversary gift.

Schussler Creative CEO Steve Schussler and his fiancée Sunhi Ryan, senior veep of sales and marketing at the restaurant concepts design company, called off their marriage this week and a reception scheduled for Valentine's Day.

"There is a saying, 'Friendship is never known in good times, but is revealed in difficult times.' This is a difficult time for us and we know we can count on your continued love and support," read an e-mail sent to friends invited to the reception and signed by both.

I wish them well.

"Daily Show" anchor Jon Stewart really liked that clip of KTLA-TV anchor/U grad Steve Kuzj shoving a heckler out of a live shot. Stewart used it to end Monday's show.

Lemon, who's making a habit of sticking his foot in his mouth, was covering a snowstorm in a vehicle he called "The Blizzardmobile."

Stewart said, "Blizzardmobile? Settle down, Batman. With the way you've been reporting lately you're lucky you're not in an actual Blizzardmobile." A photo of a Dairy Queen ice cream truck was superimposed on screen.

Wisconsin, Minnesota — it's all the same to some textbook writers.

"From SNL to the Senate" reads the caption above text beginning, "Wisconsin Senator Al Franken …" in "Keeping the Republic" by Christine Barbour and Gerald C. Wright.
