STRATFORD, Conn. — An accident involving two buses on a major Connecticut highway injured 10 people and left traffic backed up for miles.

Lt. J. Paul Vance, a state police spokesman, says the accident occurred just before 10 a.m. Wednesday on the southbound side of Interstate 95 in Stratford. He says the crash also involved a tractor-trailer and a car.

Vance says 10 people suffered minor injuries, and several of them were taken to hospitals. The highway was closed while crews worked to clear the scene and two lanes remained shut down into Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic in the area was backed up for several miles.
