Bus routes on detour in St. Paul Wednesday

Several Metro Transit routes will be on detour during the St. Paul Police Department's Memorial ceremony and the St. Paul Saints' World's Largest Game of Catch.

At noon today, the St. Paul Police Department will honor officers who lost their lives in the line of duty with a ceremony in Mears Park at 5th and Sibley Streets. The St. Paul Police Band, Honor Guard and keynote speakers will participate in the 1-hour event. As a result, several Metro Transit buses will be on detour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Routes 21, 54, 63, 70

Eastbound buses will travel on 5th St., Jackson, Kellogg, then regular route. Westbound buses will travel on Kellogg, Broadway, 6th St., Wall, 7th St., Jackson, 6th St., then regular route.

Board eastbound buses on 5th St. & Jackson. Board westbound buses on Jackson at 6th St. The bus stop on 6th St. at Robert is closed.

Routes 61, 64, 74

Eastbound routes 64 and 74 buses and westbound Route 61 buses will travel on 5th St., Jackson, Kellogg, Broadway, 6th St. to Wall, then regular route. Westbound route 64 and 74 buses and eastbound route 61 buses will travel on 7th St., Jackson, 6th St., then regular route.

A few blocks away, the St. Paul Saints will put on the World's Largest Game of Catch event on Robert St. between 6th St. and 7th Place.

Bus routes that will be on detour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. include:

Route 68, 71

Northbound buses will travel on Robert, 6th St., Minnesota, 7th St., Robert, then regular route. Southbound buses will travel on Robert, 7th St., Jackson, 6th St., Robert, then regular route.

Board northbound buses on Robert at 6th St. or 9th St. Board southbound buses on Robert at 9th St. or 5th St. The bus stops for either direction on Robert at 7th Place will be closed.

Board eastbound buses on 5th St. & Jackson. Board westbound buses on Jackson at 6th St. The bus stop on 6th St. at Robert is closed.
