Burnsville mayor to meet Obama

February 19, 2009 at 10:43PM

Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth Kautz is scheduled to meet with President Obama at the White House Friday, one of about 60 mayors from across the country who will do so.

The meeting is part of a session being held by leaders of the U.S. Council of mayors and several members of Obama's administration.

On the prepared agenda is a discussion of the federal economic stimulus package Obama signed into law Tuesday.

Kautz, the only Minnesota mayor scheduled to attend the meeting, is a vice president of the council of mayors.

She has been Burnsville's mayor since 1994, most recently winning re-election last year.
