Burnsville attorney suspended indefinitely for professional misconduct

A Burnsville attorney was suspended this week for professional misconduct.

Terry Rueb, 59, failed to deposit fees paid in advance of services to a trust fund, according to an order filed by the Minnesota Supreme Court. He failed to account for disbursement from the account to the client and to respond to his inquiries about attorney fees. He also didn't refund any unearned fees. Rueb also made false statements to the client and didn't return his files.

The disciplinary action followed a petition from the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility. He admitted to the allegations.

He will be suspended a minimum of nine months, with the right to petition for reinstatement in six months.
