Please forgive Sunday Burquest for missing a few church services. The Brooklyn Park youth minister has been cast in the 33rd season of CBS's "Survivor," which will pit Gen-Xers against Millennials, a new twist for one of TV"s most successful and influential series.

"Definitely, some of the young players are my kids' ages, I can tell," the 45-year-old Otsego resident said in an introductory video the network released Wednesday. "I've worked with young people, taken them on trips before where they've had a hard time being away from home."

Burquest, who serves at the Living Word Christian Center, will compete alongside a Marine mechanic, a "Family Guy" writer and an 18-year-old high school student, the show's youngest competitor ever.

The new season, filmed in Fiji, debuts Sept. 21.
