A mother backing her pickup truck out of her Brooklyn Park garage ran over and killed her 15-month-old boy, authorities said Monday.
Dragon S. Larson was killed instantly late Saturday morning outside the family's home in the 8200 block of Russell Avenue N., said police Inspector Todd Milburn.
Milburn said police are treating the death as an accident, and family members "obviously are traumatized by the event."
As the mother was backing out of the garage, with another of her children in the pickup, the boy stepped into the drive and was struck, Milburn said.
Police were not releasing the mother's name.
