A 25-year-old Brooklyn Park man found shot dead in north Minneapolis early Tuesday has been identified as Cordell Quinton Dalton.

His body was discovered about 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Sheridan and 8th Avenues N., according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office on Wednesday. He died from a gunshot wound.

No arrests have been made in the shooting.

Local peace activist K.G. Wilson, who was one of Dalton's cousins, said his relative had been robbed and was running away when he was killed.

Wilson said he is planning a vigil for his cousin sometime this week.

"I can't save everybody. I can't save all of my family," Wilson said on Wednesday evening. "But somebody will listen to me, and I'll be able to save them."

A 22-year-old man told police that he was shot in the hand about the same time near the same intersection, according to police records.
