A few last-minute candidate filings for Brooklyn Park City Council seats will force primaries in September.
Dean Heng and Todd Nivala will challenge Council Member Terry Gearin in the West District. Patrick Marshalek and Peter Crema filed to run against Council Member Mark Mata in the East District, and Boyd Morson and Billy Bishop will face off against incumbent Mike Trepanier in the Central District. Two candidates in each race will advance from the primary to the general election.
