Briefs: Money management sessions from Dakota County Library set

The Dakota County Library is offering a series of free seminars on money management. Registration is required for all of them.

The "Know Your Money" series will feature the following topics:

•Credit and debt basics from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Heritage Library, 20085 Heritage Drive, Lakeville.

•Developing a spending and savings plan from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Wentworth Library, 199 Wentworth Av. E., West St. Paul.

•Ten rules of personal finance from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 16 at Robert Trail Library, 14395 S. Robert Trail, in Rosemount.

•Investing 101 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 15 at Wescott Library, 1340 Wescott Road, Eagan.

Burnsville residents may now have recreational fires in accordance with the city ordinance. Recreational fire permits may be printed from the city's website at www.burnsville.org/recfires.

Any fires other than recreational fires require a permit from the city fire marshal. Call 952-895-4570.

Public session on possible Hwy. 13 changes setQuestions about a coming study of possible future improvements to Hwy. 13 in Savage and Burnsville will be answered and comments received at a public open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Savage City Hall, 6000 McColl Drive in Savage.

What more can be done to improve the key section of road -- roughly two miles on either side of Interstate Hwy. 35W -- will be the focus of the study starting this fall.

The intersection of Hwy. 13 and County Road 5 west of I-35W already is set to be rebuilt as an interchange starting next spring, and a new intersection of Hwy. 101 and Hwy. 13 opened this summer. Work at the intersection of Hwy. 13 with Clinton Avenue in Savage is expected to be finished in November.
