With starter Teddy Bridgewater listed as questionable for tonight's game in Green Bay, the Vikings have moved to make sure there's an insurance policy.

Chandler Harnish, the former Northern Illinois standout who was signed to the practice squad this week, has been promoted to the active roster. To make room, the Vikings cut receiver Rodney Smith.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson was the other quarterback on the practice squad. He was added last week after Matt Cassel was lost for the season because of a broken left foot.

Bridgewater (sprained left ankle) did not practice Monday or Tuesday, and was limited in practice Wednesday. He is said to be a game-time decision, with Christian Ponder his backup. Activating a third quarterback seems to make sense in this case.
