Tropical Storm Bret will set sail for the North Atlantic over the next few daysand is no concern whatsoever to the Eastern Seaboard.No additional tropical development is expected at this time, though we areclosing in on peak hurricane season. On average, the greatest frequency oftropical storms and hurricanes is from the second week in August through thefirst week of October.

The strongest Atlantic Basin July hurricane was Emily in 2005. On the 16th ofthe month, Emily became a Category 5 hurricane, the earliest a storm has everreached that level of intensity.
