LOUISVILLE, KY. – Brent Rooker hit a solo homer in the first inning and Mark Contreras a two-run shot in the sixth for the St. Paul Saints, but that was not nearly enough offense in the fifth game of their series.
The hometown Bats, after being held to two runs and three hits the day before in losing both ends of a doubleheader to the Saints, won 6-3 on Saturday, scoring two runs in the first inning and single runs in four other innings.
Rooker has seven homers this season. Contreras hit his first.
Saints starter Bryan Sammons gave up four runs and six hits in four innings.
