It's not exactly how they drew it up - needing an odd goal in the game's final 2 minutes, being outshot 31-20 - but Breck will take it.

The Mustangs are your 2010 state champions in Class 1A, winning 2-1 over Hermantown. The Mustangs are the first team to win back-to-back titles since Bloomington Jefferson won three (92-94).

Mike Morin's goal with 1:40 to play was the difference. The goal was a weird one. Give Morin all the credit in the world for singlehandedly carrying the puck into the zone, fighting off two defenders and getting the game-winner. But it came only when the Hawks' Jeff Paczynski poked the puck up into Morin's midsection, and it deflected into the net.

The goal was briefly reviewed, but there was no doubt it was clean.

Off to go do some interviews.

We'll be back on here for the 7pm Class 2A state championship.
