Grupo Corpo

For more than 40 years, Brazilian dance company Grupo Corpo has been reinventing Brazilian dance through the lens of contemporary dance and ballet. Its members return to Minnesota for the first time since 2013, hot on the heels of their recent showing at the Rio Olympics. They'll present the undulating torsos, high kicks and shimmies of Rodrigo Pederneiras' "Parabelo," a piece that debuted in 1997. They'll also present their 2015 work "Dança Sinfônica," a collage of the company's best works from its 40-year history, illuminated by the theme of memory and danced against a backdrop of more than 1,000 photographs. (8 p.m. Sat., Northrop, 84 SE. Church St., Mpls., $30-$62, northrop.umn.edu, 612-624-2345.)
