Boy in St. Joseph dies after being struck by vehicle

A 5-year-old boy died Monday in St. Joseph, Minn., after he was hit by a vehicle that left the scene, according to police.

The boy was hit about 3 p.m. in the 300 block of First Av. NW. When officers arrived, the boy already had been taken in a private vehicle to the St. Cloud Hospital.

Police Chief Joel Klein said the boy's name is not being released at this time.
