One boy died, but a second was uninjured, after a rollover in an all-terrain vehicle in Renville County, Minn.

The Renville County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a crash Saturday morning about 6 miles south of Buffalo Lake in Martinsburg Township. The caller reported one person trapped under the ATV.

Carsten Homan, 12, was pronounced dead at the scene. His juvenile passenger was not injured.

A preliminary investigation found that the ATV was traveling in a road ditch when it struck a field approach and overturned.

The crash remains under investigation.
