Both drivers killed, 2 passengers injured in Wright County highway collision

A teenager in one of the vehicles was critically injured, the State Patrol said.

Two SUV drivers were killed in an overnight collision in Wright County that also left two passengers injured, officials said.

The crash occurred about 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Hwy. 55 at County Road 33 in Rockford Township, the State Patrol said.

The patrol has not disclosed on which side of the highway the impact occurred.

According to the patrol:

A Chevy Equinox was heading west on Hwy. 55 and collided with an eastbound GMC Acadia.

The Acadia was being driven by Shawn Aaron Slaven, 50, of Plymouth. Driving the Equinox was 20-year-old Mindimoie Monik Diggines, 20, of St. Paul. Both died before they could reach a hospital.

There were two passengers riding with Diggines. Her sister, Precious Christine Diggines, 18, of Minneapolis sustained noncritical injuries and was taken by emergency responders to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale.
