The best gift for a cook who has everything? A new cookbook. There is always something new to discover, which may be why cooking is so compelling for many of us. For those whose interests lie in baking or cocktails, this has been a year to remember as the experts offer their advice and recipes in print. From chocolate and salty to gluten-free or sprouted, this season bakes well. And drinks well, judging by the surplus of beverage books, whether it's a shrub or a ginger beer on the menu, or a Negroni or Sidecar. This is definitely a time to stir and shake.

If there's a baker on your holiday gifting list, try an option from this group.

If you're buying for a burgeoning mixologist, look no further than this list of cocktail books.

For gluten-free friends and family who are adventurous, try this option.

Just looking for a good recipe? We've got you covered there, too.
