Bonnie Raitt
Raitt has long called Minnesota a second home, because she recorded her first album here and her late brother Steve, a sound engineer and producer, lived here for three decades. Not surprisingly, Raitt became fond of the State Fair, where she returns for an eighth time. She's touring behind this year's "Dig in Deep," a self-produced album with five songs she wrote. It's another passionate collection of roadhouse rock 'n' blues and poignant balladry. Veteran British hero Richard Thompson, a first-rate guitarist and singer/songwriter, opens. (7:30 p.m. Sept. 5, grandstand, $36-$46.)
