Bon Jovi does boffo box office in 2010

The Jersey boys, who did told soldout shows in St. Paul, topped concert sales worldwide.

Jon Bon Jovi spreads love in St. Paul Star Tribune/Tom Wallace America's No. 1 rock band, Bon Jovi, was tops at the concert box office in 2010 – domestically and worldwide, according to Pollstar, the concert trade journal. The veteran rockers, who played two soldout shows in St. Paul in April, grossed $108 million in North America and $201 million worldwide. That's a lot of hairspray for Jon, Richie and the Jersey boys. In North America, the top 50 tours grossed about 15 percent less than in 2009, down to $1.69 billion. Ticket sales fell about 12 percent to 26.2 million, with the average price dropping about 2 percent. Here are the North American rankings, according to Pollstar. 1. Bon Jovi, $108 million 2. Roger Waters, $90 million 3. Dave Matthews Band, $72.9 million 4. Paul McCartney, $71.8 million 5. Michael Buble, $65.7 million 6. Eagles, $64.5 million 7. Lady Gaga, $51 million 8. James Taylor/Carole King, $50.7 million 9. Black Eyed Peas, $50.5 million 10. John Mayer, $49.9 million
