Who says you can't win on a recount?

Singer-songwriter Alison Scott was told by KQRS that she was one of two local artists chosen to open for Bon Jovi's two shows at Xcel Energy Center this week. Oops, it turned out that KQ made a mistake tallying the votes and rescinded the invite. Word of the situation came to the attention of Bon Jovi's management and -- guess what? -- Jon, Richie and the boys will welcome Alison as one of two openers tonight.

"That gig has been on and off again more than that whole Favre thing," Kevin Bowe, Scott's producer/manager, said in an e-mail. "I don't blame any of you for being sick of this story; try being me and see how ya feel."

Maybe Scott can make it to the Bon Jovi soundcheck and work up the Jennifer Nettles part for "Who Says You Can't Go Home" and sing it with Jon Bon Jovi tonight.

Scott goes on early -- at 7 -- tonight at the X, followed by another KQ winner, Fourforty at 7:45 p.m., and then, of course, Bon Jovi, at about 8:45 p.m.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
