MANKATO -- Vikings quarterback Rhett Bomar said it was good to get an opportunity to talk to his teammates this morning after he was arrested early Sunday morning for alleged third-degree drunken driving in downtown Mankato and spent time in Blue Earth County Jail.

Bomar, however, did not want to get into any specifics of what he discussed. "That's between me and them, keep that within the team," Bomar said. "Just I felt I'd get up there and say something to them and coach gave me an opportunity to do that so that was good."

Bomar did not want to get into many details of what happened. "I'm not going to say much," he said. "It's an unfortunate situation. But we'll take care of it. I've talked to coach about it. That's between me and him. Really that's kind of all I'll really say about the whole situation."

Bomar is behind Donovan McNabb, Christian Ponder and Joe Webb, meaning it will be very difficult for him to make the team. But he appreciates the support from his teammates.

"That's what you want," he said. "Everybody on this team, it's a bunch of great guys on this team, you want, especially being a quarterback, you want guys behind you, guys that believe in you and things like that."

As for his approach on the field, Bomar said that won't change.

"My mindset on the field has not changed since day one," he said. "I'm always doing the best I can, studying the hardest I can and focused when I'm out on the field. So that hasn't changed one bit."
