Firefighters have recovered a body from the Mississippi River in northeast Minneapolis around noon Saturday. A person wandered into a fire station blocks from the river in the morning and said his intoxicated friend had gone into the river, according to an emergency dispatch supervisor.

It was unclear when the incident occurred, but rescue workers found the body near an entry point to the river at 18th Avenue NE. and Marshall Street.
