The body of a snowmobiler missing in Pine County since Feb. 16 was found over the weekend in the St. Croix River and has been identified as that of a Brooklyn Park man. James H. Frentress, 43, was last seen with two other snowmobilers just after 6:30 p.m. on the St. Croix, when he hit a large patch of open water and was thrown from his machine and disappeared under the ice. About 4:30 p.m. Saturday, two officers with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reported finding a body in the St. Croix on the Minnesota side of the border near where it meets the Snake River. Investigators confirmed his identity.
