The body of a 78-year-old man missing since a boat accident Thursday near Park Rapids, Minn., was recovered Friday, authorities said.

The body of John Patrick Sargent, of Park Rapids, was found at 2:55 p.m. Friday in 8 feet of water in Fish Hook Lake, according to the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office.

Sargent was operating his 16-foot fishing boat when it collided with a 17-footer operated by Jessiah Hoeg, 32, of Maple Grove. Responders found that only four of the five people involved in the crash had made it to shore.

Sargent and his passengers, Thomas and Gloria Dalby, both 57 and of Brainerd, were ejected from the boat. No one was wearing life jackets, the Sheriff's Office said. Witnesses pulled the Dalbys to shore, the Sheriff's Office said. Thomas Dalby was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale and treated for broken ribs and Gloria Dalby was treated at St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids for minor injuries.

Jessiah Hoeg and his passenger, Rick Hoeg, suffered minor injuries.
