Family identifies missing man found near Monticello

December 1, 2015 at 3:45AM

Family members said that the missing man whose body was found Sunday by volunteers searching in the Monticello area was Tyler Berg.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office said the body was discovered about 2:30 p.m. in a marsh south of Interstate 94 near Dalton Avenue.

The discovery came a week after Berg was last seen leaving his residence in St. Cloud.

According to a Sheriff's Office news release last week, Berg's car was found abandoned early last Monday near Otter Creek Park in Monticello. Clothing believed to belong to him was found in the park and at Monticello Country Club, authorities said.

Tony Delhanty, Berg's brother-in-law, confirmed the identity, but said he did not know the cause of death. That will be released by the medical examiner.
