To learn more about the AARP/Blue Zones Vitality Project in Albert Lea:

AARP: The nonprofit organization for people 50 and older is a sponsor of the project and includes information about it on its website, including tips for individuals and communities. Go to tinyurl.com/yknt2v6.

Blue Zones: The organization started by author Dan Buettner of Minneapolis seeks to help people adopt lifestyle changes from cultures where residents on average live long, healthy lives. After Albert Lea, Buettner will choose one or two larger cities to test his Vitality Project concepts. Go to www.bluezones.com.

Both sites offer access to the Vitality Compass, a 36-question Web tool that calculates how long you might live, based on your exercise, eating and other activities.
