Yes, it's mo-cap, and ever since "Mars Needs Moms," which made $123.97 at the box office - most of which was change that fell out of the pockets of the few people who saw it - people have been hoping that creepy wax people are over. But it's Spielberg + Peter Jackson + John Williams, and one of the most beloved properties in 20th century children's lit. So then:

Will it appeal to kids today? They may not know who Tintin is. They may be confused by the absence of celebrity voices making pop-culture references, or a musical number at the end where everyone sings a Monkees song. But that's actually a barrier for many adults, as well. It'll be up to the Tintin fans to spread the word - if it's good, that is. (BTW, if you are a Tintin fan, you'll enjoy the sly appearance of our favorite policemen.)

I suppose it was too much to hope that they'd do "Destination Moon," and we're lucky they didn't do "Tintin in the Land of the Soviets," Some are wondering why they just didn't animate the movie in the Herge style - well, it's been done.
