Blizzard Snowfall Map

Additional snow will accumulate from the mountains of North Carolina andTennessee to Cape Cod as a blizzard strengthens off the Northeast coast today.The heaviest swath of snow will stretch from southeastern Pennsylvania tosouthern Connecticut today with over a foot expected. Cities like Philadelphiaand New York City will be hard hit with 12 to 18 inches. Southeast of theheaviest snow, near the coast, ice and rain will mix in reducing accumulations.

A broad area of lighter snow will fall on the northwestern flank of the storm.

Here, amounts will slowly lessen to the north and the west of the heaviestsnow.

Along with over a foot of snow in some locations, winds gusting to 40-50 mphwill cause blowing and drifting snow. Blizzard conditions are expected fromBaltimore to Long Island. This will make roads like Interstate 95 a nightmarefor travel today.
