A Blaine woman driving west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 694 was killed Thursday evening after crashing into a minivan and a guardrail, the State Patrol said.
The crash occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near Labore Road. Officers shut down the eastbound lanes and diverted traffic to Interstate 35E during their investigation.
Samantha T. Pereira, 46, was traveling west in an eastbound lane in a Mitsubishi Outlander when she struck a Chrysler minivan, then hit the wooden guardrail just west of Labore Road, the patrol said. Pereira died at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
The driver of the minivan, a 44-year-old woman from Maplewood, was unhurt.
