Blaine police have found the driver suspected of hitting and killing a pedestrian on a city sidewalk Thursday night, then fleeing.
The pedestrian, a Blaine man, was walking in a residential subdivision in the 2200 block of 119th Avenue around 9:20 p.m. when a vehicle veered onto the curb and struck him, said Blaine Police Chief Chris Olson. The man died at the scene.
Police found the suspect vehicle less than two hours later and detained the man who was driving it, Olson said. They are looking at whether he may have been impaired at the time of the crash, he said.
