Back ice will be a threat across a good portion of the Carolinas and the Deep South early on today. Any wet spots left on untreated roadways have frozen into black ice across the South as temperatures fell Friday night into early this morning.

During the daytime, sunshine will help to melt the black ice, which could then become a problem again tonight and early Sunday.

People should take their time and use caution when walking or driving around.
