ShopJimmy.com, a specialty recycler that refurbishes and sells used television parts, is moving to Burnsville.
The company recently leased almost 290,000 square feet of office and warehouse space in the I-35 Distribution Center, a 413,000-square-foot industrial property at 2300 W. Hwy. 13. The business has been operating out of facilities in Bloomington and Lino Lakes.
Spokesman Ryan Zarlengo said the company, which has 82 full-time employees and about 50 temporary workers, began moving into the Burnsville space in late December.
"It's a great space for us to grow into, as this will be our fifth building in about six years. We wanted to make sure it was the right fit both in warehouse space and office layout, which we're completely remodeling," Zarlengo said.
Founded five years ago as a hobby by Jimmy Voiska, the company has grown to about $18 million in sales this year. It ships its recycled parts worldwide and earlier this year bolstered its own operations by acquiring Discount TV Parts of Naperville, Ill. The acquisition increased ShopJimmy's inventory and reach by adding nearly 90,000 TV parts to its inventory.
