Biz briefs: Popular Mexican restaurant in Woodbury closes

March 21, 2011 at 4:41PM

Mi Familia Mexican Restaurante and Cantina has served its last burritos and margaritas.

The Woodbury eatery managed by Uli Herrera in the Valley Creek Mall closed earlier this month, said Kori DeJong, a senior property manger with Wellington Management.

"We're sad to see it go," she said. "He was a great operator and people really liked him."

In addition to its extensive menu of Mexican dishes, the restaurant at 1750 Wier Drive also offered live music and dancing.

It's possible a new restaurant might open there. In the past week, a handful of groups have looked at the site and have expressed interest, DeJong said. But nothing is imminent.
