The first true arctic air mass of the season is now firmly in place across muchof the northern half of the country. High temperatures Friday will be belowfreezing from the northern Rockies to the Great Lakes; more than 10 degreesbelow normal for early December.Blustery conditions will amplify the effects of the chilly temperatures, makingit feel like it's in the teens across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Snow showerswill also add to the wintry feel in these areas. It will feel like it's in the20s for most of the day in cities like Kansas City and Detroit.
Around the Great Lakes, temperatures may not be quite as cold as they arefarther west, but lake-effect snow showers will bring several inches of snow toparts of Michigan and western New York state.
