Certain pourable gel fuels sold at Target, Sears, Kmart and other retailers are being recalled after at least 11 burn injuries were reported, according to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announcement last week.
The products, manufactured by Bird Brain Inc., a Michigan company, were made for ceramic firepots and other decorative lighting. When poured into firepots that are still burning, the gel fuel can ignite unexpectedly and splatter nearby objects or people.
A full list of recalled items, including those labeled Biofuel Fuel Gel and Firepot Fuel Gel, can be found at tinyurl.com/3f7kat3.
Consumers are told to stop using the products and contact Bird Brain Inc. at www.birdbrainrecall.com or 1-877-414-0842 for refund instructions.
