Billboard has crowned Bruno Mars as its Artist of the Year over many musicians who grabbed more headlines through the year such as Miley Cyrus, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga.

But in calculating which musicians exerted the strongest pressure on its charts throughout the year, Billboard found that no one topped Mars.

"Mars' artist of the year nod may come as a surprise," Billboard notes in its year-end wrap-up issue. "But as if on a stealth mission, the adventurous 'Unorthodox Jukebox' commanded a steady presence on the Billboard 200 following its No. 2 debut last December.

In addition to album sales, Billboard factors in performance on the Hot 100 singles chart, which incorporates radio airplay, sales and streaming figures, plus artists' touring revenue, Social 50 chart activity and ringtone sales.

Behind Mars at No. 2 is Swift, followed by Timberlake, Rihanna, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pink, Imagine Dragons, One Direction, Cyrus and Maroon 5.

'Teen Mom 2' arrested on breach of peace

One of the stars of MTV's "Teen Mom 2" has been arrested in South Carolina and charged with breaching the peace. Jail records show 21-year-old Jenelle Lauren Evans was booked into the Horry County jail Saturday and released about an hour later. Police say they were called afternoon about a man and a woman yelling outside a North Myrtle Beach home. Evans' boyfriend told police she locked him out of the house. Evans was arrested earlier this year in North Carolina on drug and assault charges.

Ace's house burns: A suburban New York house owned by former KISS lead guitarist Ace Frehley has gone up in flames. Firefighters were called to the stone house in the town of Yorktown Heights late Saturday morning. The home was heavily damaged; a neighbor says a caretaker had been living in the home. The musician had reportedly been fighting foreclosure on the property.

Staying power: Ten years ago, 26 million viewers tuned in to see Bachelorette Trista Rehn marry firefighter Ryan Sutter. On Saturday, the couple said 'I do' all over again in a more intimate ceremony in their hometown of Vail, Colo. The couple's life in the past 10 years, including the arrival of the couple's two children — son Max, 6, and daughter Blakesley, 4 — inspired Trista's book, "Happily Ever After: The Life-Changing Power of a Grateful Heart."

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
