Bill Murray gave a show-stopping — or, actually, game-stopping — performance during Friday's World Series battle between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians when he belted out "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" as speech-impaired cartoon character, Daffy Duck.
Game 3 against the Cleveland Indians was the Cubs' first World Series game at Wrigley Field since 1945, and the former "Saturday Night Live" star's seventh-inning stretch appearance did nothing but rev up an already electrified crowd of 41, 703.
With the Cubs down 1-0, Murray — undeniably one of the biggest Cubs fans you'll find — grabbed the mic and screamed, "We didn't come here to drink beer. We came here to win this ballgame!"
"I said to the Uber boy, I said, 'Take me out with the crowd!' In order to say the right lyric, 'Take me out with the crowd,' you need to sing it like our greatest American entertainer… Mr. Daffy Duck!"
The crowd went understandably wild.
"So I want you to spray it and don't say it," he shouted, and then broke into song, lisping his way through it in true Daffy fashion.
Murray, a Chicago-area native, recently took over a White House press briefing on Oct. 21 to show support for his beloved Cubs, jumping onstage to discuss the team's chances of making it to the World Series.
