It wouldn't be a political season without a visit from Bill Maher.

The host of "Real Time With Bill Maher" will perform Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Historic State Theatre, the same place he appeared almost two years ago.

Maher has said in past interviews that the Twin Cities ranks high on his list of favorite places to perform. He even taped his first major TV comedy special at St. Paul's Fitzgerald Theatre in 1995.

"I remember it very well," Maher said in 2014. "I went on vacation right after that and hit a bunch of places in the Midwest, like Mount Rushmore. Lincoln's still there, right?"

TIckets go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18 at the State Theatre box office or online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org
